Don't Let Your Moisture Problem Become a Mold Problem

By Gene Pugliese, Director of Construction Services

The best advice on mold remediation is to prevent mold from ever starting to grow in the first place! By taking action immediately, responding to water intrusion or moisture and removing it within the first 24 to 48 hours, the need for mold remediation can be avoided.

The first step is to identify and stop the source of the moisture. Time is of the essence in determining and eliminating the source of the moisture intrusion. Next, if moisture has been present less than 48 hours and there are no visible signs of mold, clean and dry out all wet building materials. Use a wet vacuum and drying fans to remove the moisture and then clean all surfaces with a mixture of soap & water.

If you see or smell signs of mold growth, immediately seek out a qualified mold remediation company with the experience and training needed to implement a mold remediation plan. The remediation plan should include containment as necessary, notification of building occupants, the use of Personal Protection Equipment, proper cleaning procedures for moldy materials and the proper disposal of porous items that can't be cleaned.

The key to mold control is moisture control. Solve moisture problems before they become mold problems!

Client Testimonial

To Whom It May Concern,

I have had the privilege of working with Taylor Commercial on multiple projects; most recently the reconstruction of a retention pond at Colonial Grand Huntcliff located in Roswell, GA. This project was particularly sensitive and required extensive coordination on the part of Taylor Commercial as this retention pond was active and surrounded by federally protected park land.
As I have come to expect and enjoy from Taylor Commercial, this sensitive project was executed flawlessly. Taylor Commercial's ability to manage and execute a critical path schedule is instrumental to their continued success and puts them well above any of their peers.
I would strongly recommend Taylor Commercial and their team of expert construction managers for any management intensive project where timing and execution is critical to the success of the project.

Sincerely,
Ryan Brown

We are excited to read First Things First, by author Stephen Covey, as the next book in our ongoing continuing education series.

The author offers a perspective and approach to time/life management that speaks to both the urgency-addicted as well as the procrastinator. Of interest to both educators and college level students, the book moves away from clock-focused time management techniques and introduces the need for a personal compass because, "more important than how fast you're going, is where you're headed."

"If you work just for money, you'll never make it, but if you love what you're doing and you always put the customer first, success will be yours."
