Committed to Community

At Taylor Commercial, giving back to the community and participating in charitable events and organizations is a major part of our corporate culture. This quarter we were excited to be involved with two new worthy causes.

To recognize Earth Day, Taylor Commercial did some “recycling” and held a shoe drive for an organization that gives new or gently worn shoes to those in need around the world- Soles4Souls. Last year alone, Americans discarded more than 300 million pairs of shoes, so this program not only helps people, but also helps eliminate that strain on the environment and landfills. The staff is very pleased to report that over 50 pairs of shoes were collected in the Alpharetta office alone!

Taylor Commercial was also proud to enter a team at the Atlanta Color Run, benefitting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Touted as “The Happiest 5 K on the Planet,” this event allows participants of all ages and speeds to run through different “Color Dash” zones to get to the finish line- all while having a great time for a good cause.

Kelly Miller

As Assistant Project Manager and Project Administrator, Kelly Miller is responsible for subcontractor contracts and pay, processing monthly GC/owner draws, change orders, project specific accounts payable, on-location housing coordination and placement of jobsite equipment. She is an invaluable part of the Taylor Commercial Siding Division, making sure projects run smoothly on a day-to-day basis. With her upbeat and cheerful outlook on life, Kelly leads the example for everyone in the company to have a positive attitude.

Before joining Taylor Commercial in February of 2010, Kelly had many years of multi-family construction experience working as a project and contract coordinator in the North Georgia area on both new and value-add projects. She especially enjoys watching the progress of a new construction projects go vertical- where land is repurposed, such as is the case with Atlantic Station.

Originally from Ohio, Kelly moved to Georgia in 1993 to be closer to her sister and her family so she could become the “ultimate, favorite aunt” (mission accomplished). She and her husband live in Dawsonville, Georgia with their dog, Hailey and cat, Marz. Her hobbies and interests include people, animals, music and the environment.

Book Nook

Taylor Commercial consistently strives to be the best in the multi-family industry and believes education is the key to development. As part of a monthly exercise, the Taylor Team read and discussed “Raving Fans: A Revolutionary Approach to Customer Service.”

From the author Ken Blanchard’s website:

Written in a parable style, Raving Fans uses a brilliantly simple and charming story to teach how to define a service vision, learn what a customer really wants, institute effective systems, and make stunning customer service a competitive advantage—not just another “flavor of the month” program. This book has become required reading for organizations around the world and is a necessity for those who are serious about survival and service excellence.i>
